Sapporo Salmon Museum

Toyohira River runs through a big city, Sapporo. It used to be a dirty river because of rapidly increasing population after the war. Then no salmon came back to it or went upstream. In the 1960s, when waterworks were put in good condition, the act of releasing young fish was started in Toyohira River. In 1981, some adult fish were found there. In 1984, Sapporo Salmon Museum opened in Makomanai Park. The front side of this building is designed with young fish facing each other. Inside this, visitors can watch how the crowds of young fish swim before releasing. Also, Ito, facing extermination, can be seen there. (英訳にはJust Engkish Press社の協力を得ています)
